The title of this post is my favorite line from a recent review of Secret Society Girl in The Toledo Blade. I read it in the atrium of the hotel in Atlanta, and started to jump up and down in excitement. In fact, I jumped up and down on the toes of my friend, RITA-winning romantic suspense author Karen Rose. I think she forgives me.

Anyway, check it out and picture me doing my little happy dance.

In other news, the party is happening on Thursday at HOME Club in Chelsea at 9 p.m. If you want an invite, email me! (Please put “party” in the subject line to help me find it. I’m massively behind on email due to the trip.) If you already emailed me, and want to make sure I’ve got you, email again. Otherwise, show up anyway. :-)

And, if I thought I was ecstatic with Toledo Blade news, it’s only because I hadn’t yet heard that Secret Society Girl is going into reprints! Woo hoo!

That’s awesome about the reprints! You have to be SO EXCITED!!!! Wow! I’m excited and it’s not even my book :P

The title of the post scared me. I can’t stand Dan Brown and thought The DaVinci Code was so poorly written. Diana, your writing is 100x better than Dan Brown’s! But still, as popular as the book was, a huge congratulations to being compared to it (and Bridget Jones).

What a great review! And a very apt comparison. Talk about a great log line. I read the book last week – it was as awesome as I’d hoped. Not surprised it’s already in for a 2nd printing.

I looked for you all over the conference, as I was finally hoping to meet you “for real.” – I think I spotted you briefly in the lobby, but didn’t have a chance to say hi. And of course, like a loser I spaced on your signing :( Kinda like the 5 (or however many people) you meet in Heaven, I had like the 10 people I ran into at conference, over and over. Sadly, you weren’t one of them. But your name did come up often in conversation as an author with a great blog presence.

    Hope the party is fab!

    JAMI!!!!!! You were THERE?!?!?!?!?!?!

Man, now I’m SO BUMMED. I hung out with the PI people constantly, and figured I’d definitely have run into you if you were there. I thought you weren’t.

Crap. Now I have to go to CALIFORNIA!

Ooh, maybe we can work you in as a speaker some time – something about the state of the Chick Lit market??? I’m on the board of our chapter – I have an in…

I know – it sucks – My CP Monica reminded me of the booksigning (after the fact)and said she’d met you (and commented on how cute you were, natch :) ), but by the time I got down there everyone and all the books were gone :( Tell Bantam to send you out to SF!

Reprints! That is great news. I feel special because I have two copies- the one I got here and my fancy signed copy. It was great to meet you.

  6. Heather Harper says:

What a fabulous review. And congrats on the reprints. :)

I saw a pic of you on someone’s (can’t remember who) blog, toasting with champagne.

    You looked great. And happy.

  7. Robin Brande says:

Reprints!! Are you are the happiest girl on earth, or what?!! That’s fabulous!

I just started reading your book last night. Love it!

  8. Kristin B says:

Wow! I guess it’s good news day over here! Congrats on both the great review and the reprints…guess it’s time to break out MORE champagne! =)

  9. larramie says:

Love the review (remember in The Knight Agency Chat I asked how much “The Da Vinci Code” influenced you?) and am thrilled for you about the reprints.

A terrific surprise was learning that I’m a neighbor of Amy’s…give or take about 18 miles! ;o)

  10. Jana DeLeon says:

Congrats on the second printing!!! That’s huge news! Do I detect more champagne in the future?????

  11. Bonnie Ferguson says:

    Woo Hoo, Diana!!! :)

  12. Elaine Spencer says:

The Toledo Blade is my hometown newspaper!!! Of course they are going to love you – If you want copies I’m sure I can have my mom scoop up oodles of them for you!!

That is awesome out the review and the reprint. Unlike my sister…I loved the Da Vinci Code. But I do agree with my sister that your book was very well written. I think my friends are getting tired of me shamelessly promoting your book every where I go. LOL But I don’t care. I want everyone to read it.

Sorry I can’t make the party in NY. I am sure it will be a BLAST! If I still lived in MD I would be up there in a heartbeat. But now that I am living in NC..it is just too far of a drive. If you ever make it to Raleigh let me know and I will treat you to a pomegranate martini at Bogarts.

  14. Jaci Burton says:

Congrats on both the review and the reprints! Awesome news!

  15. Alyssa Goodnight says:

I read a review recently that said something to the effect that if Jane Austen had written The Da Vinci Code, she would have come up with this book, which by the way, was And Only To Deceive by Tasha Alexander.

Reading that review compelled me to read the book. And it was wonderful. I hope your review works the same way on people!

Congrats on the review and the reprints!

  16. Kelly says:

Reprints!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am absolutely over the moon for you! Can’t wait for the party.
