I did make brunch yesterday. Actually, SB and I did it together, with some friends. We made belgian waffles (with the fabulous and ginormous waffle maker my best friend and her husband got us for the wedding), breakfast potatoes, and banana-berry smoothies. I’m not sure why I’m in such a cooking mood — it may be a whole nesting impulse inspired by the house hunt. Imagining cooking holiday dinners in any one of these new kitchens makes me want to do some cooking in our tiny little apartment kitchen, too.

This past weekend, as I watched everyone enjoying the long weekend and saw kids off school and revelling in their seemingly endless summer vacation, I started thinking about how, for four years running, my summers have been my busiest time. Not only have I always had summer deadlines, but since 2006, I’ve also had summer releases, with all the accompanying excitement, promotions, signins, etc. I have apparently joined the ranks of summer camp counselors, waterskiing instructors, margarita machine repairmen, and Will Smith.

In other news, I’m totally in love with this video:

Where the Hell is Matt? (2008) from Matthew Harding on Vimeo.

Isn’t it amazing?
