Arrival by way of @scalzi and his blog. Congrats on your new book! Recently (9/23) I volunteered at a local carnival as a face painter and was surprised how many boys wanted unicorns instead of dragons (at least 2 to 1). Maybe you put something in the air. I didn’t give them fangs or anything…

Yay! Rocky (that’s my cat) is super excited to be an honorary member of the Order of the Lioness. At one point, he was sleeping on Rampant, and then he decided to bite it. I took it away as soon as I took a picture (it has some nice teeth marks in it now, I like to think of them as a sort of Bonegrinder memento). Anyway, this is the reason why I take the dust jackets off my books while reading. =)

Rio looks adorable with Rampant. And BIG.

Have a great time in Florida and St. Louis. I hate toe injuries–usually I get a pedicure just to cover them up, but this must be really bad. =( Ignore it and enjoy the Roman feast!
