Hi Diana!

Yes, totally an author's decision about a character's hairstyle. :) I learned how the cover is supposed to catch the essence of the story with Graffiti Girl. With Touch, I didn't have a scene with my character's hair that contributed to characterization or a really cool scene so it was fine to grow her hair out and it made me feel better.

I'm looking forward to RAMPANT! :)

[...] Covers vs. Text Amy wouldn’t be caught dead in the outfits she wears on the covers of SSG or UTR. Way too preppy for our jeans and t-shirt girl. If it’s too hot for her sweater, it’s probably tied around her waist or stuffed at the bottom of her … [...]

I can see changing it, like Kelly did, if it really didn't make any difference to the characterization or the story.

But I'm with you. While I'd change a minor physical detail to make it fit a cover, I wouldn't change my story or character to fit a cover.
