1. I don’t understand the vitriol against country music. I love it!
2. I stopped liking Sex and the City after Carrie was too stupid to realize that Aiden is a god. Dumb chit.
Anyway, mmmmm…. John Corbett. He’s so dreamy. And apparently, he’s also now a country music recording artist. Now despite the fact that there are some bizarre rhymes in this little ditty (rhyming “table” with “grateful” is an interesting choice) and he has an odd predilection for hugging his fellow bandmates, who all look like they escaped from prison in the seventies, it’s a pretty cool tune.
In the video, he does a lot of chilling, walking, and barbecue-eating with his country-western clad girlfriend, played by Bo Derek. Or perhaps not “played” so much, because they are together in real life. Bo Derek must be encased in some sort of time warp device, because she hasn’t aged a day in the last 20 years.
Mmmm… John Corbett. He can be as dorky and weirdly rhyming and mutton-chop sporting as he wants to. I think he’s the kind of goofy that I find unbearably sexy. I even liked him when he was doing that bizarre New Age riff in Serendipity. Beter than hangdog John Cusack, that’s for damn sure. What a dumb film that was.

Well, I love John Corbett, so I was glad to have a link to see his video. I loved the song, though I could have done without the long hair and sideburns…okay, just the sideburns, cause I’m not partial to those, but he’s got a smile that almost makes up for that. Great song! I’d listen to more.

I adore John Corbett and it’s mostly because of Sex and the City. I totally agree with you about Carrie–she proved that adage of women wanting a guy that’s unattainable and a jerk (although I was happy with how Sex and the City ended) but Aidan? He was definitely a god and she should have been slapped for letting him get away.
The first time I saw this video was the first time I heard the song, about a month ago, and I was struck by how much his singing voice sounds like his speaking voice. And big double ick on those sideburns.
One question, is he digging his own grave in that video cuz that’s just…weird.

That’s what I was wondering, Angie! I kept expecting there to be some twist at the end, like he was digging this hole and at the bottom was a treasure or something. Or he ended up with a swimming pool at the end for him and Bo Derek to play around in (Lord knows the woman likes her swimming pools!)
But they never did show what the hole was for. Weird.
Obviously, we should have been directing that video. We’d give him a swimming pool and a haircut.

I’ve loved him ever since Northern Exposure. Weird trivia fact, a scene from an episode of that show was actually shot in my brother’s back yard in Woodinville, WA (just outside Seattle). Why his house? They liked the beatup old picnic table in his backyard. Go figure.
And he can sing too! Liked the song. Would like it better if he shaved off those ugly sideburns though.

I so agree with you, D. What a fool Carrie was to let Aiden slip away. I loves me a man who can work with his hands.
John Corbett is so good at playing those down-to-earth, caring guys –especially cute in My Big Fat Greek Wedding. I also loved him on Northern Exposure.
John with Bo Derek, though? Never saw that one coming.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who likes country music. (I like a lot of other things, too. I’m weirdly eclectic, I guess.) Love John C., but agree with y’all — hate the sideburns.
