As some of you have guessed, I have another new release this month. (No, not Morning Glory. That’s not for another two weeks.)
I have a daughter.
She arrived bright and early Tuesday morning, and has so far spent her life surrounded by ecstatic family and friends. Sailor Boy is madly in love, and Rio is very excited to be a big sister (she leans into the bassinet and sniffs the baby’s head every time she walks by.) I’m doing very well, and I’m trying my best to take the advice to “sleep when your baby sleeps” but I keep staying up and staring at her because I’m so amazed by her existence. Befitting any creation of mine, she is very strong and opinionated and interested in the world around her.
So now you know why I haven’t been the best blogger in the world this year, and why I’m not doing any ASCENDANT events for another few months. I hope things will be back to speed come 2011. In the meantime, we’re all going to be playing it by ear. Thank you to those of you who have already guessed and sent congratulations. Sailor Boy and I appreciate it so much!

Oh wow. Congrats and mazel tov big time!! I had absolutely *no* idea. Did I miss an announcement somewhere? And yes, do sleep when the baby does . . . and hope that she *is* a sleeper because once they start being able to do things life gets more exciting and often they don’t want to sleep through it–of course!
