A new review for Secret Society Girl, from Coffee Time Romance. This site apparently gives out “cups” instead of stars. (SSG got four.) Cute idea, huh? An excerpt:
Ms. Diana Peterfreund has written a quirky glimpse into the life of a typical college woman trying to navigate through campus politics while managing to have fun in the bedroom without getting too serious. Amy is a sharp witted heroine who chooses to stand up to the powers that be while inwardly quaking. Brandon is a sweet brainiac who loves Amy enough to back her up in the name of sexual equality. The minor characters are a diversified group of students from various backgrounds seen on many campuses. I enjoyed this book immensely.
And for anyone in the Washington DC area:
I’ll be reading from Under the Rose, talking to fans, and signing copies of both of my books on Tuesday, August 21st, at 7 p.m. at the Borders Book Store in the White Flint Mall, Rockville, Maryland. Love to see you there!

I’ll be reading from Under the Rose…
This reminds me of the fabulous New Yorker cartoon which shows a large sign on the wall, “Author Reading”, a smiling man sitting in a chair reading a book, and a group of very disgruntled people sitting in rows of chairs facing him. One of the soon-to-be lynch mob says, “Aloud!”
I suppose you could always play the books-on-tape version and lip sync along with the tape. Saves wear and tear on the vocal chords.

Ooh, I may be at that reading if I decide to brave rush hour traffic (I’m on the VA side of the DC suburbs).
I just read Under the Rose this weekend and loved it! Even more than Secret Society Girl.
Also, I, um, kind of fell for Poe. I think it was the punch that clinched it. Please tell me there’s going to be lots of him in the next book! Assuming, of course, that he doesn’t end up with Amy, as I’m not-so-secretly hoping now.

Of course I already have them but hey a sales a sale.
Are you still in Sunny Florida? And if you are will you be here long enough for the next meeting?
We so missed you at conference.

Do you know if the White Flint Mall is easy to get to via Metro? I don’t usually venture that far out of the district but I can make an exception.

According to http://wmata.org (one of my favorite websites), the mall is .17 miles from the station. So, what’s that? two blocks?
Rockville Pike is a busy road, but there are sidewalks.

I like wmata too. I have friends who still insist on looking things up on hard copy maps… craziness.
Thanks for that info (although now I’m flashing back to a near-death experience I once had involving the crossing of Rockville Pike and a tractor trailer, egads).
