Ahh… ‘Twas a B&N. I expected it to be on the tables out front already, with the new paperbacks and summer reads and such.

The excerpt on your website sounded like chick lit/YA, so I looked all around where I expected those sorts of books to be, but didn’t see it. It turned out to be in general fiction. Which still has me stymied.

I had a hard time finding SSG in the store – I had no idea where it was shelved, and it wasn’t anywhere that I thought it would be. I actually had to ask the guy at the counter for help. *facepalm*

But I finally got it, and stayed up waaaaay past my usual bedtime to read it. Completely unputdownable! Can’t wait to read the sequel.

Pomegranate schnapps is actually VERY tart — like cranberry juice.

And you can always add more honey.

The 312 is an incredibly tart drink, as described in the POW WOW chapter of SSG.

It is possible that they used grenadine for pink lemonade, but probably more likely that they used strawberries or some other sort of berry. that’s what we always used when making fresh lemonade growing up.

On an interesting side note…I just figured out, after googling Grenadine to make sure I spelled it right…how Max and the Baroness managed to have pink lemonade in Sound of Music. I had no idea how people MADE pink lemonade except with food coloring or from a mix. It’s grenadine that adds the color! Learn something new every day.

I’m such a foodie dweeb.

I’d think taking out the schnapps might make it less sweet…you might want to replace with grenadine…though to taste. Some people (like me) would like it very sweet while others won’t.

Yes, there really is pomegranate schnapps but if you don't have it, you could probably leave it out of the drink entirely and just increase the proportions of pomegranate juice and vodka.

Also, I've heard both citron flavored and currant flavored (such as Absolut Kurrant) vodkas work well in a pinch.
