Yep, I’m going out of town again, this time to sunny, beachside Jacksonville, FL. And look what I’m taking with me:
Can’t wait to read it! Also, I have very important research to do vis-a-vis Rites of Spring (Break). Sunbathing, beach volleyball, swimming… you know the drill. :-)

In other news, Carrie is looking for tips on how to write a good hook/query/synopsis. Any tips, drop by her blog.

Here are my favorites:

Kathy Carmichael’s pitch generator and synopsis workshop.

Agent Jenny Bent’s query letter article.

My own High Concept article.

If you have any more advice for Carrie, leave it here or on her blog!

Have fun at the beach! I was going to Panama City beach this weekend, but I think that part of FL is going to get rain. We need it though. We have the third dryest spring on record! TGIF! :)

I don’t know why you need to go all the way to FL when there’s a perfectly good beach just a few hours east of you! Hehe :D

Have fun!! And remember to swim near a lifeguard :)

Nice hat you are taking with you.

It was my cover photo that lured you to Stray, right?

I loved playing in the gentle Gulf of Mexico surf, taking swimming lessons with my kindergarten class, learning to do handstands in the shallow end of our backyard pool.

Sounds like you’re off in search of the remembrance of things past, and gathering new memories for the future. Enjoy!

Patrick, are you expecting residuals from your photo shoot? ;)

    Have a great vacay, Diana.

Thanks Diana! You’re too sweet :) I tried out Kathy Carmichael’s pitch generator and it was tons of fun. I’d post the results here, but it didn’t make too much sense. I guess I need to think about the questions a little more.

Enjoy the beach!! And what a fun read to take with you!

Have fun In Florida. We just left the Tampa area for vacation. Me made it to Disney, but not to Kennedy. Everyone told us how awesome Kennedy was. In any case, enjoy the sun and the fire ants.

Snarky comments like that have no place here. Go play on someone else’s blog. Honestly…

I dunno Marley. That’s not snarky. That envy. Which is sad for the anonymous person. See, and that is a mistake to assume that she isn’t writing/working just because she’s traveling.

A writer with a laptop pretty much is ALWAYS at the office. And one with 4 books under contract that have been delivered to the publisher yet, really doesn’t want to bump up against deadlines…

Dulce – The follow up – Boy Toy – is out in September. Say hi to Barry and find out more over on http://www.BarryLyga.com

Heather – just thanks for a job well done. :)

Yikes – you found the only wet weekend we’ve had in 2007.
Hope you got at least a glimpse of sunshine!
