20 inches is a lot for this Canadian girl, too. Yes, I remember snow storms like that a few times in my youth... in Ottawa, or Montreal... but that's a freaking lot of snow no matter where you live.

Guess what the biggest snowstorm in Toronto has been so far this winter? I'd say a quarter inch. If that. Crazy. You should move to Canada where there's less snow. ;)

Louisville finally got hit last night/this morning. It started between 11:00-11:30 PM,and it made the bike ride home from work . . . something of an adventure.

I live in Baltimore, but I crashed with family in Severn for the weekend rather than being snowed in alone in my city apartment. Our final count here was 35 inches, and we pretty much had a party while shoveling out: Dug out the first of four vehicles, opened the doors up to crank the radio while working on the others.

Got stuck in PA. I was picking up my college roomie, who was visiting for the weekend, and got stuck in the storm. I drove to a hotel and we spent Friday night and Saturday there. My parents didn't have power Friday night and Saturday and I kept checking on them making sure they were alright.

Things are finally starting to clear up and were getting more snow this afternoon.

I haven't seen this much snow since 1993 and that was fun because I was a kid. This just isn't fun anymore.

I was more worried than anything but if the situation was like yours, Diana I would have had a blast too.

I was in the snowpocalypse this weekend too! I live in DC and had a friend from Arlington get stranded here since metro wasn't running into VA. So we went to the big Dupont snowball fight on Saturday and then went to a friends for a party Saturday night. I finally drove him home (I have 4 wheel drive and needed it) in time for the Super Bowl.

Look at that snow! No snow here in Toronto - it was cold, but we're having a pretty nice week.

I also went to an adult slumber/karaoke party at a friend's house this weekend. It was also crazy amounts of food, alcohol, and bad eighties songs. Very fun. I'm all about the adult slumber party--I still have slumber parties with my college friends sometimes--reminds us of living in residence together.

I'm totally loving the adult slumber party idea. Wait, that sounds like an orgy. Well, you know what I mean.

From the looks of those photos, you'll have no problem burning off all the added calories with a snow shovel. Good luck!

Louisville only caught a light dusting of snow. It didn't even stick to the streets.

I hope that your friends brought over at least some of that massive amount of food that you consumed this weekend.

Growing up, it was rare for my family to not have an extra person in our house at any given time. My mum added it up once, and in 2007 alone we had over fifty people spend one night or more with us. It was great, and when I go home, one of my three brothers always seems to have a friend spending the night, even when some random member of my extended family ISN'T visiting. But a sleepover like that sounds even better. There's nothing nicer than letting yourself be a kid for a little while. :D

Fortunately we also had power all weekend. But we seem to have started a "snow day get together" tradition with the neighbors. It sure helps stave off the cabin fever, especially since we all have small kids who play well together. My only complaint was that I didn't get to drink any wine. :(
