1. A group of 20 people with picket signs circling a seemingly innocuous mom-and-pop Chinese restaurant.
2. A homeless man wearing a cardboard sign reading “Hungry, please help,” and a pair of hundred-dollar Bose headphones.
3. A group of about ten people on the metro who all reached for their cell phones when one began ringing.
4. A seeing-eye dog who was very quietly misbehaving so his/her master wouldn’t notice.

Reminds me of the time when I was was going into Roy Rogers on Capitol Hill and a homeless guy asked for money for food and instead, I offered to bring him out a hamburger and he said to me, “I’d prefer the cash.” LOL!

Something similar happened to me in New Haven, Marley. I was walking down the street with a pizza and a woman came up to me saying she hadn’t eaten all day, and would i please give her some money. I offered her some pizza (great pizza, wonderful pizza, New Haven makes the best pizza in the world!) and she said, “no, I’m lactose intolerant. I want some money.”
Okay, that’s fine, but if you hadn’t eaten all day, don’t you think you’d take the pizza anyway and pull the cheese off and just eat the tomatoey crust?
I give people begging for food food, but I don’t give them money.
