My very best was the one I did for an as yet to be written chick lit, while I was supposed to be doing my NaNo 50k on a womens fiction. It was way too long for a romance syn, at 26 pages, but it was good. When I try to write them after the fact, I can’t seem to focus on what the story is about. I’m too bogged down in the protags’ lives.

However, doing blurbs and tags forces me to distill and focus, and works pretty well. Yet, blurbs and tags are not synopses. And I still have major difficulties with that middle ground. I wish, like probably millions of other writers that synopses didn’t need to sparkle. It’s hard!
