Tap & Gown is out today! (or, a few days ago, if you’re one of those folks that stopped into a bookstore and found it on the shelves). Yay! I’ve been feeling so nostalgic about this series, getting all teary eyed when I flip through the pages of this last volume and stacking up all four books on a table to see how tall the entire story is.
I’m such a sap. 
Let’s have a party! First off, I want to thank Lell for this awesome fanvid. Check it out! The music is utterly epic, but the coolest part to me is that it focuses on the actual text — on all those cool keywords that get repeated over and over in the story. I don’t think she missed a single one. (You got it: more tears!)

Okay, the spoiler thread is up, so if you’ve read the book, come and comment! [PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT LEAVE SPOILERS IN THIS POST. USE THE SPOILER THREAD.]
And now, for the celebration, we’re going to play a party game. It’s called TAP & GOWN In The Wild. To play, all you have to do is send me a picture (or link to a picture in the comments thread) of TAP & GOWN — you guessed it — in the wild. If you do, I will send you a special Secret Society Girl prize pack, which is unfortunately unpictured at the moment, as I seem to have misplaced my camera’s computer cord, but trust me, it’s cool.
Now, pictures on bookstore shelves are perfectly acceptable wildlife photos, but I will put an extra something in your prize pack if your wildlife photo is of a more creative nature. Say, TAP & GOWN in the arms of an adorable kitten, or eating an ice cream sundae, or hiking the Appalachian Trail.

I went to the bookstore today, and it’s not on the shelves yet (and I just checked online and there aren’t any copies at any of the other locations either. I am unimpressed). Maybe I can take a picture with my ARC?

Awww! Happy release day, Diana! Heck, I’m getting teary-eyed and putting off saying goodbye, and I’ve only been a member of Team Poe for about a year and a half. I can’t even imagine what you’re going through after years and years of having these characters in your head.

Yay! Congrats on the release. I drove all the way to SC to get a copy (I’m here for vacation, but want to make it sound more epic). There was only one copy and fortunately nobody else had picked it up! I can’t wait to go read it now!! Pic will be coming soon!

Hee, you’re welcome. I had to cut quite a few words out of the really fast part. The saddest thing was cutting “Kaboodle Ball.” I joined the teary-eyed party over that one.
Anyway, I just wanted to say congratulations on your release day, and that I hope you get lots of hiker kittens with ice cream sundaes holding your book. Because what’s more awesome than a hard drive full of that? Probably the book itself. Yay!
PS – You found that video last night unnaturally fast. Like, I posted it, left work, and by the time I got home, you’d twittered about it. I bow to your net fu skills.

Tap & Gown goes South (well, not really unless outside the Beltway is considered the South)…I’m trying really hard to read the book slowly, but I have a hunch it will be finished tonight! The video is SO cool- does anyone know what the music is?

I’m using Tap & Gown as the carrot at the end of my current race (that I’m struggling and behind on)… oh the woes of doing things we don’t want to, but need to. I’m aiming to be able to get it (lets face it- I have no will power, so I can’t buy it until I am allowed to read it) and read it over the upcoming holiday weekend at the family cottage– so I’ll have some great “in the wild” photos upon return!
