So I’ve been posting my little heart out, but no one seems to care. Wah! Wherefore are my visitors? Okay, so no one likes the navel-gazing, nor the diary of a bitter journalist, nor the odd rantings of a lit critic. Before I got any comments, and I was satisfied that my blog was my own, private world that no one else cared to visit, I dind’t care.
But as soon as I started getting comments, I started EXPECTING them. I started coming back to my posts to see if anyone had looked. When they did, I was enthralled (and sometimes deeply disturbed). When they didn’t I felt as if I was shooting marbles into the void. I wish I could go back to thinking I had my own personal diaryt hat no one read — but I can no longer do that. My only other option, it seems, is to promote the blog.
Suggestions appreciated (since I’m shameless like that).

LOL–you get traffic…they just aren’t commenting. Try getting a traffic counter that will give you stats, including where the hits come from. And then enter your blog into some of those blog community things like Blogwise. That should help!

Yeah, we’re here. And btw–Happy Birthday, and Apt #1.
One thing I’ve noticed is that your blog doesn’t allow anonymous comments–which would encompass anybody who doesn’t have a blogspot addy, right? It’s kind of a pain in the butt to get the occassional anon comment, but they usually sign the bottom.
And I got my counter at bravenet, and because that’s the only thing from there I added, I don’t get pop-ups. (At least I think that’s the reason. When it comes to computers I’m highly dysfuctional).
A lots of snark. We like snark.

I will blushingly confess that sometimes I’m too lazy to log into blogger and comment–sometimes it’s slow, and I haven’t been doing too much blog-hopping these days.
It’s not YOu it’s ME….LOL sorry I had to throw that in there.

I thought of another one. You put your website url in your sig line, and you could add your blogspot.com under that. And people do notice.

Great comments, girls! See, the whiny wheel does indeed get the grease.
yes, shameless, me.
I don’t know hw to allow anonymous comments this is the automatic way it set up. Have to check that out, along with hit trackers.

*waves hi*
I’ll come out and play more often. Right after Larissa stops posting things that drive me to panic attacks and I can safely come out from under Shannon’s desk.

Hi, Diana! A good way to promote your blog is to visit other people’s blogs. Visit my blog! (LOL, shameless plug for MY blog!) Every Friday, I hold a party in someone else’s blog. I pick one person who attended the previous week’s party. If you want to check out how that works, visit my blog today and see the entry about the surprise party.
