I have to say, you amaze me! You made your own petticoat??? You make angel wings that are fab and you write. Along with a slew of other things. :D

I’m in revision land right now. Maybe a fourth way through the book. Hopefully, I’ll have it done and ready to go by the middle to end of January.

  2. Carrie says:

Wow — sounds like you’re Holiday has been awesome! You must be so excited for your trip!!

  3. Bill Clark says:

I agree with Vicki – you are amazing!

I’m making plans for new publications in the New Year. Possibilities include a fourth edition of my book on Bermuda (long out of print), a new coffee-table book on Greenwich, and of course an all-new historical calendar for 2009. Plus I’ll keep chipping away at the GAN (Great American Novel).

Do we get to see pics of you modeling in your petticoat? ;-)

  4. Gina Black says:

I’ve been spending time with the family. Working. Knitting. Moving piles around the house (and FINALLY some of them are going OUT OUT OUT). Writing late Christmas cards. Writing thank yous. :)

Are you going to be traveling in (brrrrr) winter? The DS (ERF’s bro) is starting to plan his Grand Tour and I’ve been trying to angle him into warmer months.

  5. Diana Peterfreund says:

Vicki, it’s really not all that impressive. All you need is stiff tulle and a gather stitch. This was why I refused to pay $70. I have plenty of tulle left over from the wedding. Good luck with the revisions!

Bill, I’m appalled that you would even suggest such a thing!

Gina, yes, I’m traveling in January. can’t be helped. Wanted to go this summer, but couldn’t make it happen due to a couple of emergencies. And deadlines are deadlines, so January is IT. Actually, I think it will be nice. Not very crowded.

  6. Bill Clark says:

Sorry, Diana – my Regency buck side was acting up. :-)

  7. Phyllis says:

Playing Rock Band on my son’s XBox 360. Why didn’t they make these cool toys when I was a teenager?

    Happy Holidays!

  8. KERRY ALLEN says:

Ditto judging Golden Heart entries, only to find I couldn’t enter scores online until December 31. *sigh* So much for crossing one thing off my to-do list.

Other than that, printing submissions that have to go by snail mail, hexing every misbegotten son of a dung beetle involved in the creation of MS Word, reprinting just those pages on which MS Word spontaneously mangled formatting somewhere between View and Print(rather than killing another tree reprinting everything), collating the reprinted pages, double and triple and quadruple checking every detail (knowing perfectly well there’s some stupid thing I’m not going to see until after I’ve mailed it all)… Fun stuff.

Getting a jump on the second draft of the next book. Fun stuff (no sarcasm this time).

And now, trying to ease my night owl of a child back to sleeping at night. At this point, she’s waking up at bedtime, which is not going to work when she goes back to school next week…

  9. Patrick, The Space Lord says:

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve needed a petticoat and just didn’t have the time to make one.

  10. Jessica Burkhart says:

I’m right there with you doing edits. Lots and lots. :)

  11. Wendy Roberts says:

I’m joining the edit party lol. Well, that and I’m dealing with a flooded basement as well as other family disasters. Bring on 2008. I’m ready.
