A lot of people having been sending me Yale new recruitment video with gasps of horror. Oh, it’s so cheesy! Oh, it’s so campy! Oh, it’s so ridiculous!

Yeah, sorry, guys, I’m not with you there. I loved the video. I thought it was creative and poignant, and it reminded me of the feeling I got on my own high-school visit to Yale, when I got the feeling that I didn’t at the other universities I visited. When I knew that this was the college for me. Yes, I shed a bit of a tear. What can I say?

And then afterwards, just because Sailor Boy and I are cheesy like that, we put this on:

Today is my birthday, and I’m feeling nostalgic.

I have to say that Avenue Q always makes me think about college. Really that song is true for how I felt freshman year and how I feel now, especially since I am going back to grad school in the fall.

I watched the Yale promo and while campy it really does make the experience there seem awesome!

I’m reading Carrie Ryan’s “The Forest of Hands and Teeth” and am experiencing this horrible feeling that I’m slipping away from Team Unicorn….but then I remember I hate Zombies, and Zombie slayers are so much more awesome.

Love the Yale video (just don’t show it to my daughter — I want her to stay in Florida, lol).

    Happy Birthday, Diana!

LOL, Phyllis…I thought the same thing! Waited until she was out of the room before I played it, just in case. Not that it’s not great to aspire to the Ivy League, but I’d rather her be closer to me!

Happy belated, Diana! Hope it was a wonderful day!!!

Also, that’s my favorite song from Avenue Q. And when I watched the Yale recruitment video, I just wanted my own college to make one…except that we pretty much look like a dirtier, badly upkept version of Yale. =p

I just watched that Yale video with my partner who went to Yale, and I have to say we loved it. She got a tear in her eye too!
