First of all, Veronica Mars ROCKED. Wow. But when they did that ad with LoVe/Piz=?? and then said to go to that website, http://veronicaviewers.com to share your thoughts? “Piz is a whiny little bitch of a character who Veronica would steamroll within minutes” was not an option to check. What am I supposed to do? Jeez, I don’t know what they’re thinking. All the show literature about Piz make it out like there’s something between those two. If there is, it’s not the little something known as chemistry. She had more chemistry with Duncan. The idea that they would be a good match is laughable, unless there’s some sort of heretofore unknownbadass tendencies that Piz has been hiding.
Moving on. I finally turned in my line edits and now I’m footloose and fancy free and taking a much needed vacation. Sailor Boy is off from school, so if I don’t check in, you know it’s because we’re vegging out.
And by vegging out, I mean, finishing my NaNoWriMo book. 9 days. 32k. Uh, yeah right.
But I will not leave you bereft. Oh no, rather, I leave you with this. Beautiful. Talk about Goal, Motivation, and Conflict! This artist’s a genius. I hope he got a great job. As a lover of all things Kiwi, I adored this.
And, yes, I cried. But then, I cried at the little toys that worshipped “The Claw” in Toy Story, so that’s where I stand on being a sap about animation.

I don’t get it.

I thought VM was pretty good, too. The look on Logan’s face at the very end was heartbreaking. Yes, he has his problems, but he is so devoted to her. I just wanted to cry for him.
As for Piz, I don’t get that either. If he is supposed to be her next love interest, couldn’t they have given us a little more indication that he might have some cojones? The dude is a little too nicey-nicey. I do get that he has a big ol’ crush on her, but Veronica barely even notices the guy.
Unless something big happens next week when she is attacked (as they showed in the promos), and he somehow gets involved…but until then?
Also, what is with VM and her issues with Logan being concerned for her safety? First season, her dad saves her from Aaron Echolls. Last season, Logan saves her from Beaver and from the creeps at the bar. Does she not see the pattern here? Is she so surprised that Logan would be concerned for her welfare when she has done so many risky things in her past?
I’m just not sure what kind of guy she wants, then. Someone who loves her but doesn’t ever, ever get involved in her life beyond a booty call and going to an art showing on occasion? Most women WANT the men in their lives to be concerned about them.
Maybe what she really needs is an investigator like herself, who would be willing to do some mystery-solving alongside her? And I don’t see Piz filling that role either. She should date a cop or something.

No. I don’t get the cartoon. What’s supposed to make me cry?

miller time, kiwis are flightless birds.

I really don’t get the Piz thing at all. AT. ALL. And I’m beginning to suspect something fishy with Television witohut Pity, because the recapper there has gone on and on about there being something between them — don’t see it, don’t see it, don’t see it. She has as much chemistry with him as she had with the freshman whose mom had a sex change op in season one.
Anyway, I think TWOP, who has been in communication with Rob Thomas et al since the start of the series, is trying to get on board with the whole Piz thing, and convince us there’s something there that, um, no. But I don’t go onto those boards or anything, so I don’t know what most people think. However, everyone I’ve spoken to doesn’t think they’ve got chemistry, that she likes him, that he’s interseting enough.
I would MUCH rather see her with Wallace.

No, I know that. What I don’t get is what the bird is doing in the film that allows him to fly. I agree the animation is amazing but I don’t GET the narrative. Can someone explain it to me like I’m a five year old?

Really? Okay, he’s uh, nailing trees to the side of a cliff so that they are sticking straight out (horizontal). Then he does a nosedive so that, from his perspective, it looks like he’s flying parallel to lightly wooded ground. Unfortunately, it’s a one-time trip.
Now I’m getting all teary again.

I finally got caught up on VM, and Diana, I totally agreed with you about the drugged drink (I went back and read your spoiler post after I saw the ep). Overall, this season isn’t really disappointing me the way it seems to be disappointing so many other people. The lack of Wallace and Mac, the plot holes, the Falling of the Perfect Father–yeah, they’re disappointments, but the first two seasons had their problems, too. For me, this show is great because of the consistently fabulous acting and characterization.
I like Piz. I think his interest in Veronica is adorable. I can’t see any interest from her side, however, and agree there’d need to be a huge change to get there. You know what, though? After the first few eps of season 1, I NEVER EVER would have expected them to make me buy Logan and Veronica, and I TOTALLY wanted them together. So I’ll withhold judgment.
Piz and Mac together totally works, IMO. And yeah, Wallace and Veronica together would be fine, too. But Logan breaks my heart. I don’t want her to keep shredding him.

Awww, I love it. My son Tommy and I just watched it several times. We prefer to think he has a little parachuette stored under his feathers where he stashed the toolkit.
But even if it’s only one flight — so worth it.
